Four fly to national time

A QUARTET of Crewe Flyers swimmers achieved national qualifying times in the Satellite Open Meet in Macclesfield.
Elisabeth Kilcourse led the way, clocking 10minutes 34.15seconds in the 12 years' 800m front crawl.
Jason Owen registered 2minutes 43.72seconds on his way to finishing second in the 12 years' 200m backstroke while other runners-up were Sarah Quartermaine, who finished the 15 years' 200m butterfly in 2minutes 30.03seconds and Gareth Payne, who touched home in the 16 years' 400m Individual Medley in 4minutes 53.12seconds.
Elsewhere, Mark Cunliffe took another second spot in the 12 years' 200m Individual Medley in 2minutes 43.94seconds, while thirds went to Gareth Payne in the 16 years' 200m Individual Medley 2 minutes 23.28 seconds and Louise Thomas 2 minutes 56.76 seconds in the 15 years' 200m breaststroke.
Other finalist positions were achieved by Michael Sharkey, Chloe Marsh, Payne, Quartermaine and Thomas.
