Flyers enjoy high lifeCrewe Chronicle – 13 Nov 2002CREWE Flyers finished fourth in the latest round of the Speedo League on Saturday.Flyers rattled up 203 points thanks to first-place finishes from Daniel Parry, Ian Coburn, Christopher Alcock, Gareth Payne and Elisabeth Kilcourse. The nine to 11 years' boys' medley relay team of Owen Davies, Christopher Alcock, Joseph Wood and Tom Roberts were also winners as were the open freestyle relay team of Gareth Payne, Lee Hillier, Michael Sharkey and Oliver Wigglesworth. Crewe 's own Open Championships also took place this week. Michael Sharkey set a new club record of 1min 3.48seconds on his way to winning the men's 100-yards breaststroke, while Elisabeth Kil-course won the ladies' 100-yards freestyle in 1min 0.87seconds. Seven Flyers swimmers travelled to Coventry to compete in the Junior Open Age Meet on Sunday. James Cowburn won gold in the 11 years' 400m freestyle, Daniel Parry took a silver in the 13 years' 400m freestyle and Terry Cowburn earned a bronze in the 14 years' 400m freestyle. Owen Davies, Elisabeth Kilcourse, Terry Cowburn, Jason Owen and Daniel Parry also claimed top-seven finishes.
In the 200m Individual Medley events, silvers went to James Cowburn in the 11 years'
event and Terry Cowburn in the 13 years' competition. Owen Davies was fifth in the
10 years' final.
