Flyers cause a splash for benefit of ResearchCrewe Chronicle - 15 Jan 2003CREWE Flyers raised a tremendous £2,403 for Cancer Research in a sponsored swim.This is the latest contribution to the scheme by members, with the swimmers raising more than £5,000 in the last 12 months. The sponsored swim included swimmers of various abilities and different ages - some were as young as five. The money was presented by some of the fundraisers to Shelia Burgess, who accepted the cheque on behalf of Cancer Research. * Members of Crewe Flyers travelled to Wolverhampton Central Pool to compete in the Stafford Apex Open. In a tough competition, Flyers competed well with personal bests achieved by Oliver Wigglesworth, Daniel Parry, Michael Sharkey, Joseph Wood, Christopher Alcock, Owen Davies, Abbie Henderson, Tom Roberts, Tiffany McNair, Elizabeth Kilcourse and Stephanie Parker |
