Golden boys return with sweet sixteenCrewe Chronicle – 19 Feb 2003CREWE Flyers sampled success at the third gala in the North Midlands Age Group Series at Macclesfield on Saturday.The squad claimed 16 gold’s, 10 silvers, eight bronzes and a hosts of finalist placings. Gold’s were won by Jason Owen, Daniel Parry, Gareth Payne, Colette Foster, Abbie Henderson, Jason Owen, Michael Sharkey, Oliver Wigglesworth, Joseph Wood, Lee Hillier, James Cowburn and Terry Cowburn. Silvers went to Joseph Wood, Owen Davies, Lee Hillier, Louise Thomas, Abbie Henderson, Jason Owen, Gareth Payne and Ian Cowburn. Bronzes went to Michael Sharkey, Gareth Payne, Louise Thomas, Stephanie Parker, Owen Davies, Daniel Parry, Colette Foster and Terry Cowburn. Swimmers given placings were Stephanie Parker, Daniel Parry, Colette Foster, Elisabeth Kilcourse, Alexandra Parker, Louise Thomas, Ian Cowburn, Terry Cowburn, James Cowburn, Bryony Carragher, Kris-Ryan Wood and Lisa McKenna, Tiffany McNair and Abby Wigglesworth. In the Open Championship events, silvers went to Oliver Wigglesworth in the 100m backstroke and Michael Sharkey in the 200m individual, while bronzes were won by Gareth Payne in the 200m freestyle, Michael Sharkey in the 100m backstroke and Gareth Payne in the 200m Individual Medley . Placings were achieved by Lee Hillier, Gareth Payne, Michael Sharkey, Louise Thomas, Ian Cowburn and Daniel Parry |
