Young Flyer James' golden doubleCrewe Chronicle - May 28 2003JAMES Cowburn produced a fine display to win two gold medals at the Coventry Junior Meet.The 12-year-old Crewe Flyers starlet also achieved national qualifying times on his way to touching home first in both the 400m Individual Medley and the 400m freestyle. For good measure, he then won a silver in the 100m freestyle and bronze in the 100m backstroke, and again recorded national qualifying times in both events. James also finished fourth in the 100m butterfly. Fellow Flyers member Joseph Wood was another gold medallist. He won the 10 years' 100m butterfly and then took a silver in the 200m butterfly, before finishing fifth in the 100m freestyle and sixth in the 200m Individual Medley . Abbie Henderson registered a national qualifying time on her way to the bronze in the 11 years' 200m Individual Medley and also won silver in the 400m Individual Medley and bronze in the 400m freestyle. Abbie also achieved a fifth in the 200m breaststroke and seventh in the 100m breaststroke. Alexandra Parker completed Flyers' haul of medals with a bronze in the 10 years' 100m breaststroke. She also came fourth in the 100m backstroke and 200m breaststroke and fifth in the 200m backstroke. |
