Dream double for Flyer JosephCrewe Chronicle - 4 Jun 2003JOSEPH Wood claimed a golden double at Fenton Manor in the COSSACS Open Meet on Saturday. The Crewe Flyer claimed victory in the 10 years' 100m and 200m butterfly competitions, while Abbie Henderson completed the winning sequence by touching home first in the 11 years' 200m breast-stroke. Flyers also enjoyed a string of other medal successes. Colette Foster finished second in the 10 years' 100m breaststroke with Wood bagging a bronze in the 10 years' 100m Individual Medley and Henderson in the 11 years' Individual Medley. Louise Thomas won bronze in the 16 years' 200m breaststroke, while Daniel Parry completed the roll of honour with four third places in the 14 years' 50m freestyle, 200m freestyle, 100m butterfly and 100m Individual Medley . The club's 10 swimmers who entered also claimed a series of placings from fourth to sixth. Daniel Parry, Gareth Payne and Kira Wood all finished fourth, Christopher Palmer and Colette Foster claimed fifth-placed finishes and Colette also took two sixth positions. |
