Abbie's a high Flyer once moreCrewe Chronicle – 6 Apr 2005Abbie Henderson continues to set the standard for the Crewe Flyers. The talented U13 swimmer has now achieved national qualifying times in the girls 400m freestyle, 400m Individual Medley (IM), 200m freestyle and 800m freestyle after outstanding performances in the Cheshire County Cheese Strings Age Group Championships. She won six gold medals in the recent championship rounds at Macclesfield and Birkenhead. And the success of the youngster is rubbing off on her team-mates. Bethany Mayor (U11) and Colette Foster (U12) have also hit the qualifying mark in the girls 400m freestyle event. Bethany also got the 200m backstroke and the 800m freestyle times and Colette has also notched the latter. Michael Eastwood has hit the qualifying time for the U11 400m freestyle. The Flyers were on form again in the championships, with gold’s over the two days from Stephanie Parker (U16, 100m IM, 200m back-stroke), Michael Eastwood (U11, 100m IM, joint first), Austin Barton (U11, 100m Individual Medley joint first, 100m breaststroke). Silver medallists were: Stephanie Parker (U16, 200m IM), Colette Foster (U12, 100m IM), Bethany Mayor (U11, 200m backstroke). Bronze medallists were: Elliot Bloor (U10, 400m free-style), Michael Eastwood (U11, 400m freestyle, 100m backstroke), Colette Foster (U12, 200m backstroke), Stephanie Eastwood (U13, 200m backstroke), Lauren Sinclair (U10, 400m IM), Stephanie Parker (U16, 400m IM), Bethany Mayor (U11, 800m freestyle).
