Golden girls lead the way for FlyersJul 18 2007 - Crewe ChronicleA BIG sweep of gold medals has been achieved again by the swim-mers at Crewe Flyers. The club sent a five-strong team to compete at Ponds Forge in Sheffield for the Retford meet where Jason Hodgson bagged two golds and a bronze. Silver went to Sian Davies and Alex Parker also scooped a bronze medal. Sarah Owen and Rhian Jones managed top six finishes. A host of medals were also picked up in the Flyers' Age Group Galas. A spokesman said: 'This event allows all swimmers to compete and show their parents just how they have progressed and all swimmers did just that.' Golds went to: Bryony Crank (2), Charlotte Rowlands (3), Charlotte Bradbury (5), Bethany Mayer, Alex Mitchell (5), Daniel Mears (5), Bryony Carragher (5), James Mitchell (3), Michael Eastwood, Katie Hughes, Emma Duff, Austin Barton (2), Dan Carragher, Rebecca Procter, Anthony Ryan, Elliot Bloor. Silver: Josie Griffies (2), Paige Bradbury, Eleanor Bloor (4), Bryony Carragher, James Morris (5), Ryan Thorley (2), Bethany Mayer, Anthony Ryan (3), Robert Morris, Charlotte Rowlands, Charlotte Mears, Rebecca Small (3), Katie Hughes, Emma Duff (2), Daniel Ryan (2), Elliot Bloor (2), Jason Owen, Colette Foster, Mitchell Crank, Bryony Crank, James Mitchell, Austin Barton. Meanwhile, Bryony Carragher set a new club record of 37.42 secs in the two-lengths
freestyle as did Charlotte Bradbury with a time of 21.08 secs in one-length breaststroke. |
