Golden girls lead the way for Flyers

A BIG sweep of gold medals has been achieved again by the swim-mers at Crewe Flyers.

The club sent a five-strong team to compete at Ponds Forge in Sheffield for the Retford meet where Jason Hodgson bagged two golds and a bronze.

Silver went to Sian Davies and Alex Parker also scooped a bronze medal. Sarah Owen and Rhian Jones managed top six finishes.

A host of medals were also picked up in the Flyers' Age Group Galas. A spokesman said: 'This event allows all swimmers to compete and show their parents just how they have progressed and all swimmers did just that.'

Meanwhile, Bryony Carragher set a new club record of 37.42 secs in the two-lengths freestyle as did Charlotte Bradbury with a time of 21.08 secs in one-length breaststroke.
