Swimming: Flyers start strongly

DEBUTANTS overcame first time nerves to land medals for Crewe Flyers at a gala.

Many of the Flyers team at the Chester Diddy Meet had never raced in full competition before, but they battled tension to produce the goods.

Gold went to Emma Duff (4), Conner Grayson and Jordan Brooks. A silver medal was won by Emma Duff, while bronze was snatched by Anthony Ryan, Jordan Brooks, Grace Farr, Daniel Mears (3) and Conner Grayson.

A club spokesman said: “Lots of personal bests and finalist places were also achieved by Sean Duff, Christopher Potts, Paige Bradbury, Bethany Moore, Christina Mullen, Elena Nash, Daniel Ryan, Stuart Eastwood, Daniel Mears, Mitchell Crank, Dylan Poole, Ryan Rimmer, Jess White, Bethany Potts and Charlotte Mears.”
