High Flyer Charlotte in first big win

CHARLOTTE Bradbury

CHARLOTTE Bradbury, of Crewe Flyers, won her first National Age Group Championships gold medal with a determined swim in Sheffield.

Bradbury won the 13-years 200m breaststroke final in a close finish, to become south Cheshire's only winner at the event.

She was off the pace at the start, but had improved to second by halfway.

Naomi Vides, of Ferndown, passed her again on the third leg with Bradbury now back in third.

But the Crewe swimmer pushed on again in the final metres to win with four-tenths of a second to spare.

Ireland's Sycerika McMahon won the race, but was ineligible for the title.

Bradbury was also sixth in the 13-years 100m breaststroke final.
