Club Child Protection Policy
Statement
The Crewe Flyers Swimming Club recognises , accepts and complies with the ASA Child
Protection Policy and Procedures. Full details are contained in the document 'Child
Welfare in Swimming- procedures and guidelines' .
The principles behind these standards are:
- The Child's Welfare is the first consideration
- All Children regardless of age, gender, racial origin, religious belief, sexual
identity and any disability have a right to enjoy sport free from all forms of abuse
or sexual exploitation
- The ASA and Crewe Flyers ASC recognise their responsibility for the welfare of children
and young people who take part in sport
- The ASA and Crewe Flyers ASC recognise they have a responsibility to maintain confidentiality
in all cases involving child protection in line with current legislation
- The ASA and Crewe Flyers ASC will not tolerate, within the Club, poor practice in
dealing with child welfare.
To this end the Crewe Flyers acknowledge their Duty of Care towards all our members
and are committed to practice which protects children from harm:
- The Club will implement the ASA guidelines on Child Protection
- Ensure all staff and volunteers are CRB checked.
- Ensure staff and volunteers recognise and accept their responsibility to develop
awareness of the issues that cause children harm. Training in this area is provided
and promoted.
- The Club will share information about child protection and good practice with children,
parents volunteers and staff.
- We acknowledge our responsibility towards sharing information about concerns with
agencies who need to know in line with ASA procedures.
